I was just a girl with Post-It notes and big dreams when I moved to Florida in 2017. My plan was simple—slow down, work part-time, and enjoy the sunshine after three decades in dentistry. I wanted to breathe, recharge, and step back from the long hours I’d given to the profession I loved.
When I accepted a part-time position at a dental billing company, I thought it would be easy. Help a few practices, keep my skills sharp, and finally embrace balance. But that’s not what happened.
The Moment Everything Changed
It didn’t take long before I saw what was really happening behind the scenes. Claims were rushed. Errors were ignored. Thousands of dollars sat uncollected. Patients were confused, and dentists were often left in the dark about what was happening to their money.

That truth lit a fire in me, and I knew I couldn’t stay where I was. So, I walked away.
